60+| Today Was A Good Day 🌞

It’s a Good Day to Have a Good Day

I just wanted to pause for a moment and share something simple but meaningful—today was a good day.

Last night, I actually slept well. I woke up to sunshine pouring through my window, blue skies dotted with fluffy white clouds. The kind of morning that makes you take a deep breath and smile before your feet even hit the floor. I sat with my phone in hand, slowly scrolling while sipping a luscious cup of coffee. That quiet moment of peace was everything.

The best part? My pain level was lower than usual. A rare and welcome relief. So, I made a choice—I went to the pool for some gentle water therapy. And guess what? I didn’t use my cane. I moved at my own pace and I was okay. That, in itself, felt like a quiet little victory.

While I was there, I decided to be a little more social than normal. A father was in the pool with his disabled son, and watching them together touched me deeply. Their connection, their joy—it made my heart smile. I chose to interact, to lean into the moment. And I’m glad I did.

Now I’m home, unwinding with Netflix, but I didn’t want to let this day pass without acknowledging it. I feel happy. I feel proud of myself. My spirit feels light. And it all started with a simple decision to show up, to choose something good.

So I leave you with this gentle reminder:
We can always choose to have a good day.
Just say to yourself, “It’s a good day to have a good day.”
