A Taste of Flava
Celebrating the Moment
Yesterday was one of those days that reminds us why we push through the hard moments.
I won’t pretend it was easy.
My body was struggling. There were moments when walking felt impossible. My youngest daughter helped me navigate stairs, carried my walker, and reminded me that sometimes accepting help is part of the journey.
But there was no question in my mind.
I was going to be there.
Yesterday was about celebrating my granddaughter.
Many of you have followed pieces of her story over the years. What makes me proud isn’t just that she graduated. It’s the way she has continued to move forward while staying true to herself.
Life hasn’t always been easy. Challenges have never stopped her from exploring her interests, developing her talents, and finding her own path.
Yesterday I watched a young person who has grown into someone thoughtful, creative, independent, and determined.
The celebration was made even more special because family came together. Loved ones traveled from California, memories were shared, laughter filled the day, and technology even allowed family members who couldn’t be present to participate from afar.
There was so much joy in seeing everyone connected.
As I sat there watching the ceremony, I realized something.
The hard days eventually lead us to moments like this.
Moments where we stop worrying about appointments, responsibilities, deadlines, and all the things we can’t control.
Moments where we simply celebrate.
Yesterday was one of those moments.
And seeing the smile on my granddaughter’s face made every step worth it.
Congratulations, Kiki.
Nanny is proud of you.

Closing Thought
Take time to celebrate the people you love.
Achievements deserve recognition, but so do the journeys that led to them.
Sometimes the greatest gift we can give someone is simply showing up and letting them know we are proud.
