A Taste of Flava
There are moments in life that quietly stop you in your tracks.
Last night, I decided it was time to trim my toenails and shave my legs.
Something I used to do without giving it a second thought became one of the hardest things I’ve done in a long time.
As I sat there trying to reach my feet, I found myself laughing.
Not because it was easy…
But because I probably looked like I was trying out for a gymnastics team I had no business joining. 🤣
I finally stopped and looked at my progress.
One leg was about three-quarters shaved.
The other… maybe half.
I laughed even harder.
Then I thought…
“I have to tell Jessica.”
As funny as it was, it also made me think.
How many little things do we take for granted until one day they become difficult?
Putting on socks.
Clipping our toenails.
Shaving our legs.
Reaching the back of our hair.
They seem so ordinary… until they aren’t.
Last night reminded me that self-care isn’t just about looking nice.
It’s about independence.
It’s about adapting.
It’s about celebrating what we can do while giving ourselves grace for what has become more challenging.
I didn’t finish everything last night.
But I did more than I could have done a while ago.
And that’s worth celebrating.
Sometimes our victories don’t look glamorous.
Sometimes they look like one and three-quarter shaved legs… and a really good laugh. 😂
Life has a way of humbling us.
If we’re lucky, it also gives us the ability to laugh along the way.
Blessings from Flava in Her Tower. ❣️🌻
