🌻 Seasoned SoulZ Reflection: When Healers Are Still Healing Themselves
Many of us are drawn to healing practices not because we’ve mastered peace, but because we are searching for it. BreathWork, meditation, therapy, yoga, wellness coaching — these practices often call to people in the middle of their own struggles. And that’s not a flaw. In fact, it may be the very thing that makes them powerful teachers: they understand the terrain of pain, confusion, or restlessness because they walk it too.
Healing is not a finished destination. It’s a process, a journey that loops and unfolds in its own rhythm. Those who teach and those who seek are often walking side by side, each learning, stumbling, and growing together.
I believe people with lived experience often make the best teachers and mentors. When you’ve walked through the fire, you carry more than theory — you carry empathy, honesty, and resilience. Years ago, when I worked as a Domestic Advocate at an emergency shelter, I was effective not only because I had training, but because I knew what it meant to survive abuse and rebuild. My story allowed me to sit with others in their pain and help them imagine a way out.
Healing is a journey we all walk in different ways. And sometimes, the most powerful guides are those still on the path themselves — willing to share their light, even as they continue to seek it.
