👗 Getting Back Into My Flava Style

WordPress Prompt: What Have You Been Working On?

Lately, I’ve been working on something a little different — getting back into my Lady Flava intentional style.

I never really walked away from it, but lately I’ve been having fun being more deliberate about what I wear and how it matches my mood. Fashion has always been part of my creative expression — just another form of art to me. My clothing isn’t just fabric, it’s a reflection of who I am and how I want to feel.

I’ve always loved leopard print, bell sleeves, and pieces that stand out — the kind of clothing that whispers, “There’s a story here.” Last week at work, I started pulling out some of my old Vegas outfits, pairing them with things that tone down the flash but still keep the flair.

I’m not a big makeup person, but I’ve been thinking about adding a touch more glam — a little sparkle in my face and hair to match the mood I’m stepping into.

Shoes? Oh, I still love them. But with my disability, I choose wisely — cute, comfortable, and low enough to keep me moving with ease. My crossbody purses are my signature too — practical and perfect for me and my rose-covered cane.

I’ve always believed appearance says a lot about a person. I notice when someone wears something unique, something that catches light in its own way — especially my fellow seasoned soulz. Glasses, lipstick, jewelry, outfits that show they still care about how they show up in the world. I always compliment when I see something I love — because a kind word can lift a person’s spirit.

So that’s what I’m working on right now:

Being more intentional about how I show up — for myself.

Because a fun outfit isn’t just about looking good — it’s a mood booster, a reflection of self-love, and a quiet reminder that Flava never fades. 🌻🐆
