Do you spend more time thinking about the future or the past? Why?

Do I Spend More Time Thinking About the Future or the Past?
There was a time when my past had a loud voice.
I replayed challenges and pain on a loop — especially from my years living in Las Vegas. Some of those experiences followed me home to Seattle, and when I returned, I made a conscious decision to go to therapy. Not because I was broken, but because I was ready to heal instead of carry.
Now, when my past tries to creep into my present, I know what to do.
I name it.
I acknowledge it.
And I release it.
That’s growth.
Here in 2025–2026, my focus has shifted. I spend far more time plotting and planning my future.
At 65, I’m closer to retirement and, yes, closer to the end of life. That’s not morbid — it’s honest. I don’t dwell on it, but I respect reality. And when I look back, I can say this with peace: I’ve lived a good life. Not perfect. Not always safe.
I took risks.
My youngest daughter still talks about me owning a business, or packing up and moving to Las Vegas on my own. And honestly? Those choices gave me stories, lessons, and a voice — and I love to write. 😉
Now I look forward to something new:
not working for someone else.
My goal is to build a home-based business that reflects who I am and what I love doing. Something aligned. Something intentional. Something that feels like me. That’s where my energy goes now — plotting and planning the next chapter.
The past can stay right where it is.
I’m a true Cancer, and when I close a door, it stays closed.
I’m excited about life after 65.
About what I’ll establish.
About what’s still unfolding.
It’s all about me, baby.
Lady Flava has plans…
to be continued. 🤩
