Friday A Sip of Flava
As this week comes to an end, I was reminded that even on hard days, I can still show up and give great patient care — even over the phone.
One of my more challenging calls took almost 25 minutes. Later, that same patient called back with additional information and shared with my coworker how kind I was. He said I allowed him to express his frustrations without rushing him, and that I gave him exactly what he needed in that moment.
That meant something to me.
Because many times, when we feel challenged, the people we interact with — especially over the phone — may never know what we’re carrying internally.
Some might call that masking.
I call it knowing how to turn on my business charm — and it’s not fake.
It’s instinct.
It’s experience.
It’s care.
So yes, I may feel challenged at times.
But I also know I can still show up appropriately, professionally, and with compassion when it matters.
And that… is something worth acknowledging at the end of the week.
