Friday Real Talk with Lady Flava

Do You Trust Yourself?

There was something I listened to this morning from Marcus Aurelius that sat with me…

Do you trust yourself?

Not your job title.

Not other people’s opinions.

Not how things “should” go.

You.

Because let’s be real…

A lot of us move through life looking for confirmation.

“Did I handle that right?”

“Should I have said something different?”

“What are they thinking about me?”

And before we know it…

we’ve handed our peace over to everybody else.

Marcus Aurelius said something powerful without saying it loud…

Your peace should come from your own actions, your own judgment, your own character.

Not the noise.

And I had a moment today where I saw this in real time.

I handled a situation at work.

Something didn’t feel right.

I checked it.

I confirmed it.

And then I let it go.

That’s self-trust.

Self-trust doesn’t mean you always get it perfect.

It means:

You trust yourself to respond

You trust yourself to adjust

You trust yourself to recover

Because here’s the truth…

You can’t control:

People’s reactions

Delays

Systems that don’t work right

The “extra” energy around you

But you can control:

Your tone

Your response

Your boundaries

Your next step

And when you start doing that consistently?

Something shifts.

You stop second-guessing everything.

You stop carrying what’s not yours.

You stop needing everyone to agree with you.

You become your own confirmation.

And let me say this part real clear…

Trusting yourself doesn’t mean you won’t make mistakes.

It means when you do…

you don’t fall apart.

You adjust.

So today I ask you…

When things get noisy…

When people get frustrated…

When something doesn’t go the way you expected…

Do you trust yourself to handle it?

Because that’s where real peace lives.

Not in everything going right…

But in knowing:

“I’ve got me.”

Closing Thought 🌻

Today, I didn’t need everything to be perfect.

I just needed to stay grounded in myself.

And that was enough.
