ATasteOfFlava| I’m Tired and Need a Morning Nap

Why I Am Exhausted This Morning

This morning I am writing my story from bed, not my tower window.

I had a yummy teriyaki chicken dinner last night and settled into preparation for my nightly routine of prayer, meditation, and BreathWork.

Yes, I was off to Leopard Fairy Land in my sleep.

I am so tired I cannot tell you if I slept solid at that point or restless. But for sure at 2:00 AM I was awakened by music and people talking. I really struggled to figure out where it was coming from.

We have a couple of venues nearby that play music, and one location has live music at times. I was totally confused as to where it was coming from and why it sounded so close.

I finally got myself up out of bed and went to my tower window. I even cracked it open. It was so loud that I looked down toward the front of my townhouse to see if people were hanging out in my gated patio area.

Nope.

Good thing.

Since I was up, I waddled across my tower to the back side and used the bathroom. That’s when I realized the townhouse behind us was having a party. It was so loud in the bathroom that I finally solved the mystery.

It was one of those moments.

Should I call the police and make a noise complaint?

Or should I let it slide?

They have never done this before.

So I waddled back to my bed, laid down, and started thinking through the whys, as I always do.

Then a thought came to mind.

They are college-age students.

Honestly, I rarely hear them.

Maybe someone was having a graduation party.

That is where I left it.

Eventually I left it in my mind without annoyance.

Eventually, I drifted back to sleep.

Now, I am naturally an early riser. Partly because I think it is my momma in me. She always woke up early. I have also spent most of my life working jobs that started at 7:00 or 8:00 in the morning.

My blogs and storytelling are my passion, and I could not miss telling you this story before I possibly go back to sleep.

Oh, and I forgot one important detail.

When I got up to investigate from my tower window at 2:30 in the morning, guess who I saw?

Chip.

My squirrel friend.

Running across the wire.

In the dark.

At 2:30 AM.

Apparently Chip was conducting his own neighborhood investigation.

Alright friends, I took a couple bites of teriyaki chicken this morning so I could take my medicine, and now I am going to see if I can squeeze in an early morning nap.

Wishing you a fabulously enjoyable weekend.

Happy Saturday!
