A Taste of Flava
Good Morning from the Tower!
Today has already been entertaining and the phones haven’t even had a chance to fully wake up yet.
After tossing and turning most of the night, I wasn’t feeling too bad this morning. I grabbed my cane for a quick trip to the bathroom, although I probably should have used my walker because I wasn’t very steady. The good news was that my pain wasn’t too bad and I only had minor leakage. I’ll take that as a win.
As I sat down in the tower to prepare for the workday, my wildlife crew started reporting for duty.
First, I spotted Jonathan Livingston Seagull soaring through the gray Seattle sky. After many failed attempts, I finally managed to get a picture of him in flight. Of course, just as I was feeling proud of myself, a fly landed on my window and turned into a giant blurry UFO in the photo.
Apparently, the fly felt it deserved equal billing.
Meanwhile, across the street, Nico was perched on watch duty, carefully monitoring the neighborhood from his secret observation post. Every neighborhood needs a security officer, and Nico takes his job very seriously.
Then Chip arrived.
Chip was busy making his rounds through the cedar tree, inspecting power lines, climbing utility poles, and hiding in the branches while somehow believing nobody could see him. His fluffy tail alone gives away his location every single time.
As if that wasn’t enough excitement for one morning, I decided to try making chia pudding for breakfast.
Now let me tell you, what I created looked less like pudding and more like strawberry protein soup.
I mixed chia seeds, vanilla protein powder, soy milk, and strawberries. I used three tablespoons of chia seeds and expected something thick and creamy.
What I got was a bowl of liquid confusion.
After several rounds of stirring, it finally improved enough to become something between pudding, yogurt, and a smoothie bowl. It wasn’t terrible, but I think next time I’ll bring my Magic Bullet upstairs and maybe add a little honey.
Sometimes healthy eating is a learning experience.
Sometimes it’s a science experiment.
Today it was both.
As I sit here waiting for the phones to come alive, I’ve already had visits from a seagull, a squirrel, a cat, a fly, and a bowl of chia pudding having an identity crisis.
Not a bad way to start a Monday.
Until next time,
Lady Flava 🌻
