A Taste of Flava
Preparing for the Landlord Walk-Through
I have learned something about myself over the past few weeks.
I have a lot of clothes.
No, seriously.
A LOT of clothes.
So many clothes that I had six bags of laundry waiting to be put away and I still could have gone longer without washing anything.
Apparently, my problem wasn’t running out of clean clothes.
My problem was running out of places to put the clean clothes.
🤣
With our landlord planning a walk-through, I decided it was time to get serious about cleaning and organizing.
What I forgot was that cleaning looks a little different when you have mobility challenges.
Today I tackled the bathroom.
I cleaned the shower.
I cleaned the tub.
I cleaned the toilet.
And by the time I was done, my body sounded like a bowl of Rice Krispies.
Pop.
Crack.
Pop-pop-pop.
Snap.
🤣
Thank goodness for my electric scrub brush because there is no way I would have survived scrubbing that tub by hand.
The funny thing is that the brush did the scrubbing, but I still had to hold it, angle it, reach with it, and convince it to go where I wanted it to go.
That turned out to be a workout all by itself.
As I laid down to recover, I listened to mysterious noises coming from my sitting room.
Boxes were crunching.
Things were moving.
Someone was muttering.
I refused to investigate.
Eventually, I learned that T was breaking down boxes and trying to figure out how to take the trash and recycling downstairs in one trip.
I am still laughing.
Meanwhile, outside my tower window:
Chip made a surprise appearance.
Poe got caught in the rain.
Onyx posed for pictures.
Nico supervised the entire operation from his security post.
And Seattle finally decided to stop threatening rain and actually rain.
By Thursday everything will be in its place.
The lesson I learned is that maintaining a clean space is much easier than recovering one.
And perhaps I don’t need to let six bags of laundry accumulate before putting them away.
Then again…
I still had enough clothes that I could have gone longer without doing laundry.
🤣🌻
Question of the Day:
What household chore always turns into a bigger project than you expected?
