Tuesday’s A Taste of Flava
Coffee With an Old Friend
This morning is dark, even though the temperature is predicted to reach 80 degrees later today.
These hazy, smoke-affected mornings carry a fall-like feeling, even though we are still in the late-blooming days of summer. I have my fan running on low—not only to keep me cool, but to help blow away any smoke remnants trying to linger around my tower.
This morning, I am going to make myself some coffee.
I need a little time with an old friend. ☕️
I also have a new young squirrel friend. This little one is smaller than Chip and Dale, moving quickly across the wires and exploring the neighborhood. I need to think of an appropriate name. I don’t know yet whether my new visitor is a he or a she, so the official introduction will have to wait.
Name: TBA. 🐿️😉
Musty greeted me this morning. He may be settling into the south window in the TV room. He has been spending more time there lately, and I have a feeling it is because that window puts him closer to Yapper.
And yes, Yapper—the neighborhood crier—is already at it.
At this point, I think we are all beginning to tune him out. Even Musty may simply be monitoring the situation instead of expecting it to improve. 🐶🤣
Meanwhile, I have already completed my early-morning work duty: notifying all our clinics about who is out and who is working where today. The information has been posted, and everyone can begin their day knowing how the staffing pieces are arranged.
Now it is time to heat some water for my coffee.
Yes, Cowboy Coffee—strong, simple and familiar. Just something warm to sip while my day gets started.
Sometimes, you don’t need anything fancy.
You just need a quiet moment in your tower, a few neighborhood friends passing by, and a warm cup of coffee with an old friend.
Happy Tuesday, My Friends!
