☕ Friday – A Sip of Flava
The Kind Voice
Sitting here in my tower getting ready to start another shift working from home… yes, coffee in hand.
I’m not stressing this morning. Just thinking.
Thinking about how much difference a kind voice can make when someone calls in with a medical concern.
I know how it feels to be the one calling — unsure, worried, maybe a little frustrated. And I know how quickly a situation can escalate if the tone on the other end is sharp or impatient.
But kindness?
Kindness slows things down.
A calm voice can turn what could become a horrible encounter into a steady conversation. It allows the caller to feel heard instead of dismissed. It creates space for clarity instead of conflict.
More and more, I realize that I try to be that voice.
Not perfect. Not always easy. But intentional.
So much of who I am — and how I show up — comes from my parents. They taught me how to listen before responding. How to speak respectfully. How to lead with care instead of ego.
That training shows up every time I put on my headset.
So before I take my first call today, I’ll take a few more sips of this coffee… breathe… and settle into the person I choose to be.
Spread a little kindness today.
You never know who needs it. 🌻
