☕ A Sip of Flava – Finishing Strong
This morning I’m sitting in my tower, cowboy coffee in hand, looking out at the quiet after a very full week.
And I’m smiling.😁
It’s easy to focus on what didn’t go right. The tension. The personalities. The moments that stretched you. But this week? I’m choosing to acknowledge the blessings.
I finished my work week with a solid review.
Not perfect. Not dramatic. Just steady. Honest conversation. Mutual respect. Growth acknowledged.
That matters.
We had a great staff meeting — one of those meetings where people participate, solutions happen, and you remember why teamwork works when it’s done right.
That matters too.
And then last night… my grandbaby turned 18.
Eighteen. 🎉
We were loud. The chef was entertaining. Buddy lit the hibachi grill like he owned the place. Food was flying. Laughter was echoing. Friends who have known each other since kindergarten were hugging tight. Parents blended in easily. Auntie B showed up for her Cookie.
It wasn’t just a dinner.
It was community.
It was growth.
It was legacy.
Now here I sit, sipping strong cowboy coffee, grateful.
Grateful for steady employment.
Grateful for personal growth.
Grateful for laughter.
Grateful that the people I love are surrounded by good energy.
Grateful that even in complicated relationships, there can be peaceful moments.
Life will always have challenges. That’s not new.
But it’s powerful to pause and recognize the blessings that showed up too.
This week, I showed up for others.
Today, I’m sitting still long enough to appreciate what showed up for me.
And that’s a sip worth savoring.
