ATasteOfFlava|Memorial Day 2026

Monday A Taste of Flava

Memorial Day Reflection

Today I want to take a moment to honor the men and women who served our country and never made it back home.

Memorial Day is more than cookouts, long weekends, and sales advertisements.

For many families, this day represents sacrifice, grief, remembrance, pride, and love.

Many of us may never fully understand what leads someone to willingly place themselves in harm’s way for their country. To accept the possibility of deployment, separation from loved ones, injury, or even death.

But for those who choose that path, there is often a deep sense of commitment, duty, protection, honor, and service that guides them.

I have loved ones who served during wartime, and I remain deeply grateful that they were able to return home safely.

Not every family received that blessing.

Today my heart goes out to:

the fallen soldiers the veterans carrying memories that never leave them the spouses who waited the children who grew up without a parent the mothers and fathers whose hearts still ache and every family forever changed by military service

No matter our backgrounds, beliefs, or differences, we should never lose respect for the lives that were given in service to this country.

So today, I simply want to say:

Thank you.

We remember.

And we honor your sacrifice.

With love, respect, and gratitude,

Lady Flava 🇺🇸🌻
