H&W|The Sun is Out

Wednesday Health & Wellness 🌻☀️

Now that the sun is finally starting to appear more and more in Seattle… this is your gentle reminder to be mindful of your skin and sunscreen.

One thing about cooler weather is it can fool people into thinking the sun is not strong enough to affect the skin. But even when temperatures feel mild, UV rays are still doing their thing.

Many of us get so excited to finally see sunshine after months of gray skies that we rush outside without thinking twice about protecting our skin. I understand it completely 😁☀️

As we age, taking care of our skin becomes even more important. Our skin naturally changes over time and can become more sensitive, thinner, and slower to heal. Certain medications can also increase sensitivity to sunlight without people realizing it.

A few gentle reminders:
☀️ Apply sunscreen before long periods outside
☀️ Protect your face, chest, ears, and hands
☀️ Wear sunglasses when possible
☀️ Stay hydrated during warmer weather
☀️ Remember that “feels cool” does not mean “no UV exposure”

Sunshine can absolutely lift the mood, help us feel energized, and encourage us to move more… but mindfulness and protection still matter.

And honestly… after a long Seattle winter, I understand wanting to sit in the sunshine with your coffee and just soak in the warmth for a little while 🌻☕️

Take care of yourself out there and enjoy the beautiful weather responsibly.

Blessings,
Lady Flava 🌻
