Take Care of Your Brain
We spend a lot of time thinking about taking care of our heart, our joints, and the rest of our body. But how often do we stop and think about taking care of our brain?
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that keeping my brain healthy is just as important as keeping my body moving.
Simple things can make a difference.
Getting enough sleep.
Drinking enough water.
Moving your body, even if it’s just a short walk or some gentle stretching.
Eating foods that fuel your brain.
Learning something new.
Reading.
Working a puzzle.
Having conversations with people you enjoy.
Even taking a few minutes to sit quietly and let your mind rest can be healthy for your brain.
We can’t control everything that comes with aging, but we can make choices every day that help keep our minds active and healthy.
It’s never too early or too late to start taking care of your brain.
Your future self will thank you.
Google Information
Brain health is the ability to think, learn, remember, communicate, and make decisions throughout life. Healthy habits such as regular physical activity, quality sleep, eating a balanced diet, staying socially connected, managing stress, and keeping your mind active through reading, learning, or puzzles can help support brain function and may reduce the risk of cognitive decline as we age.
