A Taste of Flava – 9AM
Title:
“The Ones Who Remember You”
This morning I opened my computer and saw a message that made me stop.
A young man I worked with… Luke.
It was his last official day and he reached out just to say goodbye.
Now let me tell you something about Luke…
He’s one of those young people you look at and just know he’s going somewhere. Focused. Respectful. Grounded. The kind that will have “Dr.” in front of his name one day—and I told him that.
He used to stop and check on me.
Not rushed. Not surface-level.
He would ask how I was really doing.
And one day he shared that his mother lives with pain too.
That stayed with me.
Because when someone connects with you like that… it’s not small.
So when I saw his message this morning, I couldn’t believe he thought of me on his last day.
Out of everyone.
He thought of me.
And I cried.
Not the heavy kind of cry…
but the kind that reminds you that you matter.
See, we go through life doing what we do—showing up, helping people, having conversations—and we don’t always know what sticks.
But sometimes…
God lets you see it.
Sometimes you get a moment that says:
“The way you showed up meant something.”
And this morning, I received that.
So I wrote him back.
I spoke life into his future.
Encouraged his journey.
Told him I already see the greatness ahead of him.
Because when you recognize something good in someone…
You say it.

You don’t hold it back.
And here’s what I’m taking with me today—
Be mindful of how you show up with people.
You never know who is carrying your words with them.
And if someone crosses your mind?
Reach out.
Because one simple message…
Can stay with someone longer than you think.
