Vol.1|The Soft Life We Earned.

āIf your life were a fairytale, what chapter are you in?ā
I believe Iām in the chapter called
The Soft Life We Earned.
My journey continues with music, colorful leopard print, peace, and gratitude for another day to experience life. The sky above Leopard Fairy Land is bright blue this morning. Birds are singing loud enough to wake the flowers, and the wind carries whispers from nature itself as if the earth is happy we are still here.
Iām walking with a little dance every other step, holding my Flava Cowboy Coffee with Angel Dust creamer in one hand and a sparkling ginger beer tucked under my arm for My Peace. Thereās no rush here anymore. No clock punching. No surviving the week. Just living.
Ahead of me is Rainbow River.
Thatās where My Peace likes to fish.
He never hears me coming because he gets lost in the music. Old school songs drift through the air while leopard fairies dance around him in sparkly boots and flowing sunflower scarves. Some days the river water runs orange. Some days it glows pink or deep turquoise. The fish change too. Yesterday there were silver catfish with purple fins. Today the trout are bright violet with gold tails.
Thatās the magic of Rainbow River.
You never know what the day will bring.
I quietly set my chair beside his.
No dramatic entrance. No need for words right away. Just presence. The kind that only comes from years of friendship, history, forgiveness, growth, and understanding. He looks over, smiles softly, and shakes his head because somehow I always bring coffee strong enough to wake the fairy dragons across the mountain.
We laugh.
Not the nervous laughter we carried in our younger years while trying to survive another world⦠but the relaxed laughter of two people who finally found peace within themselves.
We are retired now and living life on our own terms in Leopard Fairy Land, right down the lane from one another. We still remember the old world we came from and all the challenges that shaped us. We remember the hard chapters too. The stress. The responsibilities. The moments life almost dimmed our light.
But one day we chose joy.
We chose simplicity.
We chose friendship.
We chose peace.
And somehow the magic that started when we were fifteen years old followed us into this colorful little world off the grid.
Now our days are filled with music, river breezes, fairy markets, dancing skies, and quiet mornings by the water.
We are healthy.
We are happy.
We are truly friends forever.
And honestly?
That feels like the best fairytale chapter of all.
