💛 Learning to Heal Beyond the Procedure
Today reminded me how personal healing really is.
I spoke with one of Dr. D’s patients — she had received an injection about a month ago and was doing great until yesterday, when she tried to lift a two-pound weight and felt that sharp, familiar nerve pain return.
I could feel the frustration in her voice. That disappointment when progress turns into another setback — I’ve been there.
I told her that I’m also a patient — that I’ve had injections, too — but I didn’t share my whole journey. Sometimes, people need space to feel seen before they can see possibility.
But what I wanted to tell her is that healing isn’t just about a pill, an injection, or a surgery. Those things can help, but they’re not the cure. We play a role in our own recovery.
Over time, I’ve learned how to move with awareness — how to bend, breathe, and release tension when my radiculopathy flares up.
I’ve learned that healing is not only physical — it’s neurological and emotional. Sometimes we have to retrain the brain to understand that we’re no longer in trauma.
It’s about reclaiming control — not through force, but through mindfulness.
We have to remind our bodies, gently and often:
“You are safe now. You are healing.”
Because real healing is a partnership between the mind, body, and spirit.

💛 Finding Balance: Healing Through Physical Therapy, Mindfulness & BreathWork
Pain teaches you things that textbooks can’t.
Over time, I’ve learned that healing isn’t about just one solution — it’s about the combination of what your body needs and what your spirit requires. For me, that means Physical Therapy, Mindfulness Meditation, and BreathWork — alongside the medical support of injections when necessary.
There was a time when my pain felt constant — that deep, radiating ache from radiculopathy that makes even the smallest movement feel like a mountain climb. But I’ve learned how to listen to my body, to bend and move in ways that knock it out before it can take hold.
It’s a dance — between science and intuition.
Physical Therapy keeps my body aligned.
Mindfulness keeps my thoughts calm and focused.
BreathWork keeps my energy moving freely.
When I combine these with the right medical treatments, I feel in control again — not as a victim of pain, but as a participant in my healing.
Healing takes awareness. It takes patience. And it takes learning how to reconnect — to your breath, your movement, and your peace.
Because pain may visit, but it doesn’t get to stay. 🌻
