A Sip of Flava — New Year’s Day
As this new year begins, I’m noticing that my intention feels different this time.
Not goal-heavy.
Not milestone-driven.
But quieter… more personal… more honest.
Over the last few days, something meaningful unfolded at work — not through planning, but through presence. Thoughtful questions were shared. Laughter landed easily. Jokes softened the edges of long days. And connection — real connection — formed naturally among the front desk staff.
No one was trying to prove anything.
No one was performing.
People simply showed up as they were.
That’s what stayed with me.
So this year, my New Year’s intention isn’t about checking boxes or racing toward outcomes. It’s about staying attuned — to people, to moments, to the subtle warmth that reminds us we’re human first.
Sometimes growth doesn’t announce itself.
Sometimes it arrives quietly, disguised as conversation, shared understanding, and unexpected ease.
This year, I’m choosing to honor that kind of growth.
That’s today’s sip.
Reflective. Grounded. Real.
