“Slow Mornings Aren’t Wasted Time”
This morning didn’t rush me.
No alarms pulling me out of my sleep. No chaos waiting on the other side of the bed.
I woke up early… and just stayed there for a moment.
No pressure. No urgency.
Just me, my thoughts, and a quiet kind of peace.
I took my time this morning.
Listened to voices that pour into me instead of pulling from me.
Checked in with my body… and for once, it said, “I’m okay.”
That matters more than people realize.
I didn’t eat dinner last night, so this morning?
Hot water and soup made sense. Not fancy… just real.
Listening to what my body needed instead of what routine says I should do.
And outside my tower window, life was already moving.

Chip put on a whole show… climbing, jumping, doing what he does like he had something to prove.

A Cedar Waxwing sat quietly in the tree, minding her business, working for her next bite.
Tom and Jerry flew overhead, circling, watching, thinking—never rushing, just deciding.

And Poe…
Poe was way off in the distance—about two blocks away—sitting at the very top of a tree.
Most people wouldn’t have even noticed him.
But I did.
And that right there… says something.
Because when life slows down, your vision changes.
You start seeing things you would’ve missed if you were rushing.
Everybody had their rhythm.
And inside?

Musty curled up in her bed like the world could wait.
No stress. No overthinking.
Just rest.
And me?
Sitting right in the middle of all of it… noticing.
That’s when it hit me…
Sometimes when a day feels slow, it’s not because nothing is happening.
It’s because we’re finally moving at a pace where we can see everything.
We’re so used to rushing through life that when it softens…
we don’t always know what to do with the quiet.
But there’s something sacred about a slow morning.
It lets you:
check in with yourself listen to your body observe instead of react breathe without feeling behind
Today didn’t start loud.
It started honest.
And maybe that’s the reminder for today…
Not every day needs to be fast to be meaningful.
Some days are meant to unfold gently…
right in front of you.
