Monday: Tower Window Wildlife with Lady Flava
New Friends, Old Souls, and the Ones Who Keep Watch
This morning, I sat in my tower window… just like I do.
Not chasing anything.
Just watching.
And today… they showed up.
The quiet one came first.
High up… perched like she owned that branch.
Still. Observing. Not a sound.
She didn’t need attention.
She was the moment.
Then tucked deeper in the tree… almost hidden if you weren’t really looking…
That soft blue-gray beauty.
A Western Scrub-Jay.
Not loud. Not flashy in that moment.
Just sitting there like, “I’ve been here… you just finally noticed.”
That’s how some things in life are too.
And then…
Here come the squirrels.
Running those lines like they pay rent out there.
No hesitation. No fear. Just full speed across wires like it’s a freeway.
You already know…
That’s when the energy shifts.
Because not too far off…
There he is.
Black. Sharp. Focused.
Sitting with purpose.
A crow… holding something in his beak, like he just handled business.
Not loud. Not calling attention.
Just watching everything.
And that’s when it all came together for me.
You’ve got:
the quiet observer
the hidden beauty
the restless energy and
the one who keeps watch
All sharing the same space…
But moving completely different.
That’s life.
Same world.
Different roles.
Some people are like those squirrels… always moving, always going.
Some are like the jay… present but not performing.
Some are like the crow… handling what needs to be handled, quietly.
And some… just sit high up, taking it all in.
What I love about my tower window…
Is nobody is wrong.
Nobody is out of place.
Everybody just is.
And today?
I didn’t need to go anywhere.
Didn’t need to figure anything out.
Didn’t need to chase connection…
Because it all came right to me.
