Let It Go — You Deserve Peace

By Lady Flava | Simply Flava Reflections

One thing I’ve learned since returning from Vegas is how much of a disservice it is to stay in misery. Truly, misery loves company. I was miserable in Vegas — and I called home often, repeating the same words again and again: “I hate Vegas. I’m miserable.”

Looking back now, I know the people who love me were tired of those calls. And honestly, I can’t blame them. From where I stand today, with peace in my heart, I feel compassion for that version of myself — but also regret that I stayed in that space so long. I know now that I could have handled that chapter in my life differently.

I’ve learned the importance of letting go of situations sooner rather than later. It’s vital to process what weighs on our spirit, to reflect on how we handled it, and to recognize what we might do differently next time. That’s where true growth lives. I’ve come to understand the power of owning my own stuff.

Life isn’t always fair — that’s just how it plays out sometimes. But we don’t have to turn every hard experience into a never-ending traumatic saga. The past can’t be redone, but it can teach us. We can learn from it, own it, and let it go. Peace starts there.

We spend so much time blaming others — and yes, others may play a part — but if we keep replaying the story long after it’s over, we give it far more power than it deserves.

It’s time to let it go and refocus on the blessings in life. There’s always something positive in each day. If you were to make an honest list, I bet you’d find more good than bad.

Challenges will always come, but we get to choose how much power we give them. So let’s give ourselves some grace — and start focusing more on the positives.

I hope you’ll take a moment to sit with these words. Do they make sense to you? If so, maybe we can talk about it — because letting go isn’t just about releasing pain, it’s about making room for peace. 🌻
