🌻 Sunday Health & Wellness
I’ve been paying attention to something…
Working around younger adults, I’ve noticed how often they call off work for being sick.
Not once in a while… but consistently.
And it made me pause.
Not in judgment…
but in concern.
Because if this is what health looks like in your 20s…
what does that look like later in life?
Now I understand—we’re in a different time.
There’s more awareness around mental health.
People are speaking up about anxiety, burnout, and stress.
And honestly… that part is a good thing.
For a long time, people were told to “push through” everything.
And that wasn’t healthy either.
But now I find myself wondering…
Have we swung so far in the other direction that we’re normalizing not being well?
Because when I look a little deeper…
I see a generation dealing with a lot:
High anxiety and depression
Poor sleep habits
Constant screen time
Financial stress at a young age
Less movement, more sitting
More processed food, less nourishment
That’s a heavy load to carry… early in life.
And here’s where my concern really sits…
If your body is already struggling in your 20s—
frequent illness, burnout, exhaustion—
What happens in your 30s… 40s… 50s?
Because health doesn’t usually get easier with age.
It requires more intention, not less.
There’s also the life side of this…
Frequent call-outs can affect:
Job stability Income growth
Long-term financial security
Retirement later on
Not immediately…
But over time, those patterns add up.
And I want to be clear…
This isn’t about saying
“just push through.”
No.
If you’re sick—rest.
If you’re overwhelmed—pause.
But there’s a difference between:
Caring for your health
and
living in a constant state of not being well
Maybe the real question is…
Are we teaching the next generation
how to truly take care of themselves?
Not just mentally…
but physically… emotionally… consistently.
🌻 Closing Thought
I’m not looking at this generation with criticism.
I’m looking with care.
Because I want them to feel strong in their bodies…
clear in their minds…
and stable in their lives as they grow.
And right now…
it feels like something is off.
