Monday – A Taste of Flava
Some days… you just have to go with the flow.
Today didn’t come in soft and easy.
Staff calling off.
Extended family dealing with real-life challenges.
The kind of stuff that could shift your whole mood if you let it.
But I didn’t let it take me there.
I sent out birthday love to my sweetheart… and it was received with warmth.
Simple. Genuine. Real.
In the middle of work, I made it a point to acknowledge someone dependable.
Let another coworker know—I see you, and you matter.
Because that matters.
People need to be seen… especially on days when everything feels off.
And then… just like that… one of my favorite patients came into clinic.
Bing Bing.
Eighty-three years old, full of life in her own rhythm… and just knowing she was there made me smile.
Even though I wasn’t in clinic… I felt it.
That’s what I’m talking about.
I had my coffee—sipping it between calls, taking moments where I could get them.
Looked out my tower window… stormy skies, quiet trees.
My bird friends tucked away somewhere, riding it out just like the rest of us.
And that’s the thing about days like today…
They’re not perfect.
They’re not easy.
But there are still moments in them that are good.
And if you slow down just enough…
you’ll catch them.
