Everyone Has Something to Heal From
As I get older, I find myself looking at life differently than I did in my twenties, thirties, or even my forties.
I’ve come to realize that every one of us is healing from something.
For some, it’s physical pain.
For others, it’s emotional wounds that no one else can see.
Some are carrying grief.
Some are battling anxiety or depression.
Some are trying to recover from unhealthy relationships.
Others are working through disappointment, addiction, trauma, or years of putting everyone else before themselves.
Healing isn’t just about our bodies.
It’s about our minds.
Our hearts.
Our spirit.
The older I get, the more I believe that these three are connected.
When one struggles, the others often feel the weight.
That’s why taking care of ourselves isn’t selfish.
It’s necessary.
The healthier we become—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually—the better prepared we are to handle whatever life places in front of us.
That doesn’t mean life suddenly becomes easy.
It means we become stronger.
More resilient.
More capable of moving forward.
Looking back, this is something I wish I had truly understood twenty years ago.
I spent so much of my life taking care of responsibilities, solving problems, and showing up for everyone else that I didn’t always recognize the importance of caring for myself with the same intention.
Today, I know better.
Healing isn’t a destination.
It’s an ongoing journey.
Some days we take big steps.
Some days we simply rest.
Both are part of the process.
So today, I encourage you to ask yourself:
What part of me needs healing?
Your body?
Your mind?
Your heart?
Your spirit?
Wherever your healing begins, be patient with yourself.
Every healthy choice you make today is an investment in the person you will become tomorrow.
Your future self will thank you.
Blessings,
Lady Flava 🌻
