🎤 Once Upon a Stage
Seasoned SoulZ | Simply Flava
Watching Nashville reminded me just how messy the entertainment world can be.
It’s a world that looks glamorous from the outside — lights, applause, connections, creativity. But underneath all that shine sits a lot of shadow.
I didn’t live it at that level, but I walked in those circles long enough to see how the industry can chew people up. It’s a place filled with passion and possibility — yes — but also ego, poor judgment, and broken promises. Great talent doesn’t always come with great character. I met incredible artists and musicians who deserved the world… and others who lost their way chasing validation instead of purpose.
Once upon a time, it was exciting — the interviews, the shows, the community. I was deep in it, supporting indie artists, building platforms, helping voices be heard. But over time, I saw too much of the machine behind the music. And when the noise grew louder than the joy, I knew it was time to step away.
That version of me — the one who worked the industry grind — she served her purpose. She taught me resilience, discernment, and how to recognize genuine artistry over polished performance.
Now, as Lady Flava, I still love music, still support creatives, but I protect my peace first. I create from a place of honesty, not hustle. I connect with people who move from purpose, not pressure.
That chapter of my life made me who I am — seasoned, soulful, and unshakably real.
I’m not bitter. I’m just better.
