A Taste of Flava – Saturday 9AM

Grateful It’s the Weekend

I woke up this morning with one thought…

I don’t have to rush.

No alarm pulling me out of my sleep like it owns me.

No phones already ringing in my head before my feet even hit the floor.

No work voices, no urgency, no pressure to be “on” before I’m ready.

Just… quiet.

I sat there for a moment and let that feeling settle in.

That kind of peace hits different when you’ve been moving all week, answering, helping, solving, showing up.

This morning, none of that was waiting on me.

Just my space.

My pace.

I made my way to my tower window, easing into the morning instead of charging into it. The sky looked like it had already had its moment earlier—rain came through, did what it needed to do, and moved on. Now everything just felt… washed. Calm. Reset.

And I noticed something else.

My body felt different.

Not perfect… but not bracing either.

There’s a difference when your body isn’t preparing for impact—when it’s not tightening up for a long day of holding everything together. This morning, it felt like it could just exist for a minute without being on guard.

That alone is a blessing.

Coffee in hand, looking out at my quiet little world… even the birds are taking their time this morning. No rush, no performance. Just stillness.

And I’m right there with them.

Sometimes we think we need to fill our weekends with plans, productivity, catching up on everything we didn’t do during the week.

But this morning reminded me…

I don’t need to chase anything today.

I don’t need to prove anything today.

I can just be.

And that’s enough.

Closing:

Today doesn’t need to be productive to be meaningful.

Today just needs to be mine.
