Mother’s Day Real Talk 🌻
Can we be honest for a moment?
Motherhood is not always soft music, matching pajamas, brunch reservations, flowers, and smiling family photos.
Sometimes motherhood looks like:
survival.
Sometimes it looks like exhaustion.
Sacrifice.
Working while hurting.
Protecting children while breaking inside yourself.
Staying strong because nobody else in the room is.
Some mothers are carrying grief today.
Some are missing their mothers.
Some are grieving children.
Some are navigating estranged relationships.
Some are raising grandchildren.
Some are healing from abusive relationships.
Some are trying to figure out who they are outside of motherhood for the very first time.
And some mothers quietly spent years pouring into everybody else while forgetting themselves completely.
Real Talk?
Many women do not stop being mothers when their children turn 18.
The worry changes.
The conversations change.
The support changes.
But motherhood continues.
And another Real Talk?
Not every mother needs a balloon, a social media post, or a fancy dinner.
Sometimes she needs:
rest,
peace,
help,
understanding,
follow-through,
quiet,
support,
to feel heard,
or simply someone asking:
“What do you actually need?”
Today I also want women to remember:
you are allowed to care for yourself too.
You are allowed to:
🌻 set boundaries
🌻 rest your body
🌻 say no
🌻 protect your peace
🌻 ask for help
🌻 spend money on yourself sometimes
🌻 take your health seriously
🌻 stop carrying everything alone
Motherhood is beautiful.
But it can also be heavy.
And many mothers have been strong for so long that people forget they get tired too.
So today, I simply want to say:
I see you.
To the mothers surviving.
To the mothers healing.
To the mothers still showing up despite life being hard.
Happy Mother’s Day. ❣️🌻❣️
Love,
Lady Flava
