ATasteOfFlava|Summertime In Seattle

Tuesday A Taste of Flava

Seattle decided to remind us that summer has arrived.

By afternoon, my tower can get pretty warm, so the curtains get closed and all three fans go to work. Between the sunshine pouring through the windows and my laptop running all day, it can feel like I’m working inside a toaster oven. 😁

The funny thing is that while I am trying to survive the heat, my tower friends seem to have already figured it out.

The birds and squirrels start their day early.

Lately, more and more finches have been stopping by for quick morning visits. The finch couple has become one of my favorite sightings. They perch close together in the cedar tree while the morning sun lights up their feathers.

Chip is always busy. One minute he’s on the wire, and the next he’s dashing across it and running up the telephone pole like he’s late for an important meeting.

Chip makes appearances throughout the morning, always looking like he has somewhere important to be.

As the afternoon heat settles in, everything becomes quiet. The birds disappear, the squirrels retreat, and I imagine they are finding shade, a cool branch, or a gentle breeze somewhere out of the direct sunlight.

While I spend my workdays answering phones and helping patients, my tower friends provide little moments of peace throughout the day.

Some of the calls I receive can be challenging. People are worried, frustrated, hurting, or searching for answers. Taking a moment to look out my window and see a finch, a squirrel, a crow, or simply the blue sky helps me reset and continue forward.

Those small moments matter more than we realize.

I am grateful for my tower animal family. Every morning I look forward to seeing who stops by to visit.

Have you ever taken the time to notice the beauty outside your home and the creatures that frequent your yard?

I’d love to hear about your own backyard visitors and experiences.

Blessings,

Lady Flava 🌻
