Would Being The Light for Someone Else Be Considered Health & Wellness?
I believe it is.
Not just for them…
but for you too.
As a child, I understood something about myself early.
I was meant to serve people.
Especially in challenging moments.
I don’t know if it came from watching my parents and elders…
or just something placed in me…
But I knew I was meant to be present.
To truly see people.
To truly hear them.
And that has never left me.
Even now…
I show up for patients.
I show up for coworkers.
Now let me be real…
I express my frustrations.
I have my moments.
But that is not what I present to the people who need me.
Because they deserve something different.
Being a light is a gift.
And it’s also a choice.
When someone is in pain, confused, or overwhelmed…
Being the light doesn’t mean fixing everything.
It means:
offering kindness
being patient
listening without rushing
showing up with presence
Sometimes it’s as simple as tone.
A calm voice.
A moment of understanding.
A pause instead of pressure.
Because when someone feels seen…
Something shifts.
And here’s the part people don’t talk about enough…
Being the light for others
also supports your own health and wellness.
It:
grounds you
keeps your heart open
gives your day purpose
reminds you who you are
In a world that can feel cold and rushed…
Being the light brings warmth.
Not just to others…
But back to yourself.
So yes…
Being the light is Health & Wellness.
Because it nurtures the mind.
It strengthens the spirit.
And it keeps compassion alive in spaces that need it the most.
