A Taste of Flava ☕️🌻
I Drove Myself Today
This morning I did something simple…
but for me, it was big.
I drove myself.
It’s been months.
I didn’t rush it.
I got in the car, let her warm up, let me warm up… and I went.
My body felt every bump and bounce.
My hips reminded me they’ve been through something.
But I kept it light and steady.
And I made it.
I even got there 10 minutes early… like I do.
I went to my second physical therapy session today.
I had someone who understood how I talk… how I move…
and what my body has been trying to say.
We set expectations.
We made a plan.
On my dash, my Daddy was riding with me—
a purple turtle I bought the morning we buried him in 2016.
And hanging from my mirror… a rosary from my Mommy’s things.
Different pieces of my life…
but both with me.
I didn’t walk into this day alone.
And I came back to my tower,
sat down with something light to eat,
and let my body settle.
Not perfect.
Not pain-free.
But better than yesterday.
And today…
that’s enough.
